My reviews of The Sound of Music...
ABRIDGED VERSION:
1) I don't think I've stopped smiling for one second since the party 2) I had black boogers on Saturday night and for all who know my theory about black boogers - you KNOW I had a good time
UNABRIDGED VERSION:
I worked until 6 a.m. (Central Time) Friday and left immediately to pick up Nicole and Ed to head from Minneapolis to Rapid City. We finally arrived around 5 p.m. (Mountain Time). This worked out well since 10 hours is a long haul to make two days in a row on a couple hours of sleep. I met Dave Ambient, Jonathon and their friend, Raesa (sp?) at 6:45 a.m. Saturday and I swear these are about the coolest kidz I've ever met. We were all practically best friends by the time we all split up to go home on Sunday. :( I won't go into the details of "the bust" and the relocation since Ryan's pretty much covered it. Here's where it gets good. Soon after the 5-0 made their presence known, we regrouped at the Zoop kidz' house, I changed into my furry pants which made me so happy that I knew we'd just have to find a new space cuz sitting around the house in my furry pants all night just wasn't gonna cut it. Within minutes, the Dungeon was established as our new stomping ground. YAY!! What happened next was beautiful... carloads of Colorado kidz pulled up and I'm pretty sure I hugged all of you (sorry if I missed anyone). Double YAY!! YAY!! MAAAAAAAD PROPS to all of you for making that drive. It was so wonderful to finally meet all of you. Next, we caravaned over to venue #2 and putzed around till stuff was set up (no time flat). Ryan (Tilzs) started off the night with a bang. I was a massive sweat ball in a matter of seconds and was forced to change out of my furry pants. DOH! It was worth it to keep dancing, though. All of Slippy's set was rad as hell but the first 2 tracks had me in a complete trance. Nice! Spiral was awesome as all Beat Radio listeners know. He's also my new pal from our 10 hour drive home together. Happy day! Now, I'm just gonna run at the mouth. DMX: 3 tables, scratch scratch scraaaaatchin, and Beasties!!! If it's possible to get off on music, I did during DMX's set. It was, in a word... ORGASMIC! YOWZAS! Once it was over, my legs were like noodles and I had so been looking forward to dancing to Joey's set but I couldn't dance for long as I could barely stand. Sawwy Joey. :( You totally went off, though. Did I detect some scratching in there?!?! Right on!!! Next was Ishe and once again, I apologize, I only heard a bit of your set and had to catch a few quick ZZZ's in the car. That bass nearly knocked me on my tush, though! I made it back for a little of Dave Ambient's 5 a.m. set and wanted so badly to start dancing again but I just had to go back to Brian's for some shut eye. I'm totally straight edge but I felt some wacky stuff at this party. It was like I was in a completely altered state of mind the entire night. YES, my pupils always look like that!! :) I can't even describe it but this is what it's all about. It was vibey as it gets - heart pounding music, heart warming people. Love was in the air!!! Sorry this is so long and blabby but I am just too excited. I am so smiley from finally meeting the 303, Shahzad, 420 Dave, Melinda, Evie, Dave Ambient, Jonathon, and a gazillion others! Thanks to all of you for being there. Thanks to my awesome friends with Zoop for pulling this off and making it all worth while. You know I'll be back for more!!!!! Nothing's gonna keep me away from that hell hole town known as Rapid City!!
Love and hugz and smiles to all, Tanya :)
